If you're anything likes us then as soon as spring's in sight, you start thinking about what sunglasses you're going to sport once the sky turns blue!

Thanks to an introduction to Megan Trimble, we knew what sunglasses we'd be buying come spring all the way back in December.

One half of independent eyewear brand Zanzan (Megan's creative partner is fellow creative Gareth Townshend), we couldn't help but get ridiculously excited about the beautiful and unusual sunglasses the duo create.

The idea to introduce a new eyewear brand came to Megan and Gareth in 2009. Deciding to call it Zanzan - a word that Maltese gangsters used to describe a snappy look back in the 60s - their sunglasses have a decidedly vintage feel.

Drawing on their flirtations with photography, fashion and design, the duo's frames standout with their decidedly English sensibility. "We share an appetite for culture in all its glorious guises and created Zanzan as an expression of this passion," explains Megan.

For SS11, the unusual colours that you see in Zanzan's frames come from acetate dating back to the 60s and 70s. They're the ultimate in limited-edition frames - handmade in extremely small numbers so you won't spot them on anyone else.

Another thing we love about Zanzan? Their Soho-based office! Packed with too many exciting things to mention, it makes you realize just how much creative energy goes into making each frame. Want a pair? So do we!

Last month we noticed that some of our favorite tastemakers were opting for miniature satchels to complement their lightly layered looks as they transitioned between seasons. While those polished purses are certainly still fashionable, now that summer is in full swing, we've observed a number of stylish celebrities who are reaching for casual carryalls instead! Specifically, ladies like Sienna Miller and Rachel Bilson have started a microtrend and are making bright bohemian bags a must-have accessory. We've totally fallen for these slouchy sacks too: they add a pop of color and a dose of patterned or textural intrigue to any neutral ensemble, plus they give off a great gypset vibe that is spot-on for summer dressing! Additionally—and this is always a plus—they are enticingly functional, being large and sturdy enough to toss in a sporty swimsuit, heels, or a sweater, should your warm-weather travels require you to go from city-to-beach or day-to-night
